At 46, Brian Campkin was diagnosed with heart disease and required an emergency triple by-pass surgery. From the minute he began his recovery, he knew he wanted to make a difference. As a survivor, he volunteered for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, speaking to audiences about his struggle to regain his health. Brian has been featured in the Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, Maclean’s magazine and on television and radio. In 2010, the Heart and Stroke Foundation recognized his volunteer excellence and two years later, he received the Heart of Gold award. Brian is married, has three daughters and a grandson. Brian is author of the upcoming book From Survivor to Thriver.
